Nurturing Massage
Nurturing Massage is similar to Swedish massage and can be tailored to the individual, allowing the amount of pressure applied to be as gentle or as firm as you require. It works on several levels, enhancing deep relaxation, eliminating the body’s toxins, ensuring better circulation and helping your muscles to relax to their natural state so they can resume functioning at their optimum capacity.

Massage can be very beneficial to mind, body and spirit, as it is highly effective for treating muscular aches and pains including neck, shoulder and back problems while providing a space for deep relaxation. Various techniques, such as kneading, stretching, friction, neuromuscular and trigger point therapy are incorporated with Swedish massage techniques such as effleurage and tapotement are used to bring the muscle fibres back to their natural state of being.
When you experience chronic muscle tension or injury, muscles, tendons and ligaments will typically suffer adhesions. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement and inflammation. Specialist massage techniques physically break down these adhesions to relieve pain, restore normal movement and optimal circulation, enabling the body to restore health.
Massage can be very relaxing and rejuvenating, reducing stress and can help with specific issues, such as:
- Chronic pain
- Limited mobility
- Recovery from injuries and surgery
- Repetitive strain
- Postural problems
- Muscle tension
One session can be of immense benefit and regular sessions can be used to for general relaxation, bringing together a balance of body and mind, or may be needed to gradually improve the condition of the body.
During a session, a short consultation will be followed by a few minutes privacy to undress to your briefs and lie on your front on the massage couch, under a towel. You will be covered with the towel throughout, with only the area being uncovered for massage at any one time. Nourishing oils are used to aid the massage and specific areas of concern can be concentrated on at the amount of pressure that is comfortable to the individual.
Following your massage, we recommend that you drink plenty of water as the extra intake of fluids helps to eliminate toxins from the body.
Massage Therapy is intended to complement your relationship with your medical practitioner/s and consultant/s. If you suspect you may have a health problem, please see your GP and never disregard or delay seeking medical advice. At Still Stable, your therapist will discuss your medical history during your first consultation.
